Modern Warfare 2 Now Playing on Xbox 360

That's right, Modern Warfare 2 is most likely in the MS certification process and should be gold shortly.  As you can see in the screenshot above, the game has been moved from PartnerNet (Official Dev Network) and put onto the actual Xbox Live network and is now being played internally by employees of Infinity Ward.  Like we said, this is usually an indication of a game starting the MS certification process.

So far these are the maps we've seen them playing:

Multiplayer
Afghan
Derail
Estate
Favela
Highrise
Invasion
Quarry
Rust
Scrapyard
Skid Row
Sub Base
Terminal
Underpass
Wasteland

Spec Ops
Breach and Clear
O Cristo Redentor
Sniper Fi
Hidden
Suspension
Body Count
Acceptable Losses
Bomb Squad
Estate Takedown
Time Trial
The PIt
Snatch & Grab
Terminal
Wreckage
Overwatch
Big Brother
Evasion
Race
Homeland Security

We'd love to speculate on this hinting at a possible mp demo (we know, we know...no demo is planned), but I think just mentioning that urge to speculate is more than enough to stir the pot.

Remember to keep an eye out for a brand new Modern Warfare trailer releasing on Sunday, October 4th during Sunday Night Football (Chargers v Steelers @ 8pm EST).  In the meantime, here's a screenshot from the upcoming trailer that will surely have everyone talking!

*thanks to simsdaniel for keeping an eye on those Xbox Live accounts for new map names!*
